I Louvre These Paintings...

It has been such an honor to receive news that my Monday Bunday photos have inspired the muse in someone. I have a friend in California who is quite an artist and she has not only a very cool website, but in her spare time creates beautiful paintings. From photos of the bunnies she has created some unique works of art. Thank you Melinda!

Happy Birthday Ben!

Jan. 17th marks the 300th Birthday of one of the most unique citizens the world has known, Benjamin Franklin. To live in the Philadelphia area and not feel the presence of this great man is impossible.

Last Spring, I visited the Philadelphia Museum of Art and stood transfixed at this marble bust sculpted by artist Jean-Antoine Houdon in 1779. Later this year, as part of the Franklin 300th birthday celebrations a special exhibition will be devoted to Houdon and his work.

Greyton

Mr. Twizzle needed some cleaning up. He has bad grooming habits sometimes.

Twizzle needs a brushing. Fortunatley, he loves getting his fur brushed by Mrs. Pratt.

Between the hay balls, baskets, straw mats, alfalfa cubes and sticks Baxter has plenty of things to nibble on.

Sometimes when Greyton is flopped out, he has a bemused look on his face. Other times he resembles Ludwig Von Beethoven.

Hare-um Scareum...

Ever since Princess Jewel died, the baby gate we used to keep her territory off limits to the other bunnies has been removed. Baxter, Greyton and Twizzle have each taken their time investigating the bedroom, but something seems to be scaring them.

We have totally cleaned the room since Jewel's death,(Repeat after me,"This room is clean." in Zelda Rubinstein voice.)but somehow her presence is known to the other rabbits.

Baxter will thump a lot when she's in the room. Especially when under the bed.

Greyton will stay only to one side of the room and not really approach the other. That's the side she used to sleep and spend the most time. When he gets near that area he runs away down the hall , his flumpy feet flying.

Twizzle is a bit braver, which is surprising since he's normally the scaredy-bunny of the household. He creeps over to both sides of the room but still is on his guard.

But at night, they will not sleep in the room. They stay in the hallway. Outside the door, past where the fence used to be. They know it's gone, but I think Princess is haunting them.

It's not like I'm going to call a Petsorcist or anything. I wouldn't be surprised if her tenacious will has her on some level still present that maybe only the rabbits can sense.

I guess I have to listen to things that go Thump in the night.

Hello 2006...Hello Awkwardness...

For those of you who watched Dick Clark's Rockin' New Year's Eve 2006, I hope you caught the most priceless moment of the evening.

No, it wasn't the return of Dick Clark, who despite the sadness of seeing his condition, you know just spent the whole last year focusing on returning to television, perhaps for one last time.

No, the classic moment was right after the ball dropped and it was just past midnight. The cameras panned to the crowds in Times Square hugging, kissing, and then cut quick to Mariah Carey and Ryan Seacrest standing next to each other. They had this tense moment of "Ewwww i don't want to hug or kiss THAT!" as they stood together. Did anyone Tivo it? Seriously, go back and watch it. You can see in slow motion the exact moment they skeeve each other out.
