Oh Romeo...

Ollie has a comfy bed in his cage where he sleeps each night. He does enjoy running and leaping around the room, but when I notice he gets a bit tired he's moved to his bed. Mrs. Pratt has a small stuffed bunny I think I got her for an Easter present one year. I thought I'd put the little bunny in along with Ollie so he would have a friend to flop next to. It works with Twizzle with a large stuffed rabbit, and I think helped him with Greyton's absence.

So I put the bunny in with Ollie last night, and went downstairs for a bit. Mrs. Pratt and I started hearing a noise.
Taptaptaptaptaptaptaptaptaptap...It sounded like the woodpecker who usually visits our backyard trees. The noise wouldn't stop. It seemed to be coming from Ollie's room.

We checked on Ollie, and sure enough he was making "friends" with the stuffed animal. My bunny the "jackhammer". Baxter looked on from the other room, and I told her that's why she is being kept apart from him. I took the stuffed rabbit out of the cage or else we wouldn't be able to get any sleep last night.

Ollie will be getting fixed soon, and that should calm him down a little.

Say Carrots...

We decided to see if the bunnies would pose for a Christmas card photo. For the most part Ollie and Baxter were well behaved during the photo session. Twizzle is next.

Ollie settles in...

Ollie has been really good the last few days. He's seemed to have settled into the dauily routine well here. He's a pretty happy bunny and has had fun just exploring his first room of the house. His appetite is wondeful, he vigorously enjoys his timothy hay and appreciate the greens and pellets. more importantly, he is really getting the hang on the litterbox.

When I let him out I will sit on the floor and read a book and ignore him. he runs around the room and explores but gradually comes over to me every now and then. I just read so he knows I'm a presence in the room, but won't lunge at him or hurt him. So each day he is more used to me being around and has come over to give a hello nudge and get petting.

Baxter is one grumpy bunny. She has shown her nasty side which has never before appeared around Greyton and Twizzle. She growls up a storm at Ollie. probably because some of her territory has been delegated to him(although her and Twizzle get dibs on the whole rest of the upstairs during the day and night.)

Twizzle doesn't know Ollie is around yet, and since he is so much bigger and also tends to be territorial we shall keep the Land of Ollie and Twizzlevania far from one another for now.

Meet Annabelle...or maybe Ollie!

Annabelle came to live with us today. She is so tiny!Or I should say HE. Once again , gender confusion on past owners- we flipped him over and he was definitely a male. He is about half the size of Baxter! I think we may rename him Ollie.

He seems to have settled in nicely- eager about hay and pellets, running and doing little leaps. Twizzle hasn't met him yet and we will probably keep him apart from him for now. Twizzle has bullying habits at times , and the little guy would be no match for him.

Baxter is just fascinated with this bunny boy. They have been nose to nose a few times and she is sitting outside his cage staring at him while he eats pellets. She doesn't act this way around Twizzle , so I think she is one smitten kitten..uh...bunny. Although as I typed this Baxter GROWLED at him!!

But He is a welcome addition to our home.

The woman who gave him to us brought her small daughters along to say goodbye to her...and as she said goodbye to the bunny and saw he was in good hands with us, the youngest child turned to her Mother and said, "Can we get a Fish now?"

And so a new chapter begins for the Pratt Bunnies...
