Presenting....

Pop Culture Calendar is my new side project. it really makes sense because this blog is usually just bunny photos but then suddenly an obscure pop culture celeb takes a dirt nap and I want to comment on it. but when i do people get confused with What do rabbits have to do with an old actor from the 1960's.

So... I started a new blog that all the obits, celebrity birthday, odd video etc. will show up on.

I also will have help. My friend Blinkie is a talented local friend of mine. She will be writing with her own entries.Between her pop culture interests and my silly tastes we'll report on all forms of media.It's also a work in progress so expect design changes, name changes and just general construction on it until we get a good format down.

Now then, This page will continue to be the home of Monday Bunday. Every time I try to retire this page I get a chorus of people who need that bunny photo fix.I'm sorry, Ollie prefers I don't say fix. I don't update it much with personal writing about myself anymore but the weekly bunny pics will go on. You are still welcome to visit this page.

A chipmunk decided to visit our backyard bird feeder for an afternoon snack. This is the first one we've seen in our yard. No sign of Simon and Theodore.

Ollie OK

People have been asking about Ollie since his surgery, and I have to tell you that he is doing really well. Ok the first day he was rather subdued and rested in his cage a lot. But he has been eating his daily greens,pellets and hay with gusto. He still likes to touch noses with Baxter and Twizzle through the baby gate, but hasn't approached his old stuffed friend he use to get amorous with.In a few weeks we will let him get together with the other two to see if they can be friends.

Happy Birthday Daffy Duck

70 years ago today, April 17th, 1937, Daffy Duck made his screen debut with Porky Pig in the Tex Avery directed Warner Brother's cartoon "Porky's Duck Hunt". It also featured the first time Mel Blanc voiced both characters. The cartoon also included the song "The Merry Go-Round Broke Down" which became the them song for Warner's Looney Tunes.

Duck Amuck from Chuck Jones remains one of my favorite Warner Brother's cartoons.

Recently I've been in touch with an old Hofstra friend,who I previously hadn't heard from in like 15 years...He had a friend who had an old photo of me from the 1980's. The scene was the surprise party at my dorm and since I had a habit of drawing cartoons-it was a regular gig for me to slap a giant piece of paper on the walls and draw everyone at the party.
Behold the geekiness in all it's glory. Yes I look like a total dweeb. But here I am 20 years ago...This is actually from March 1987.So if I gave you a laugh over this... You are so very welcome.

Baseball Season...

Twizzle does not seem too excited about the start of baseball season...which if you are a Phillies fan you approach each year with gentle optimism until they usually break our hearts later in the season. The last few year I've gone to the game, but not up to doing it this year.
